RaceAscend ("we," "us," "our") operates the raceascend.com website and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our platform to register for races, manage events, or browse our site.
Information We Collect
When you register for a race or create a director account, we collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, and date of birth
- Gender, city, state, and shirt size preferences
- Emergency contact name and phone number
- Medical conditions or allergies you choose to disclose
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card numbers)
- Event registration details including distance, finish times, and bib numbers
We also automatically collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device information through standard web analytics.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process race registrations and payments
- Provide registration confirmations and race day logistics via email
- Enable race directors to manage events, rosters, and check-in
- Publish race results when authorized by the race director
- Generate finisher certificates
- Contact you about events you've registered for (via race director email blasts)
- Improve our platform and user experience
Information Sharing
We share your registration information with the race director of events you register for. This includes your name, contact details, emergency contact, medical notes, and registration data — all necessary for safe event operations.
We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe receives your payment information directly and is governed by their own Privacy Policy.
We use Supabase for database hosting. Your data is stored securely with Row Level Security policies that restrict access to authorized users only.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Race Results & Public Data
When a race director publishes results, your name, finish time, bib number, distance, gender, and city/state may be displayed publicly on the results page. This is standard practice in the endurance events industry and part of the registration agreement.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), Row Level Security database policies, and secure authentication via Supabase Auth. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe (PCI Level 1 certified).
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing info@raceascend.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Our analytics are minimal and privacy-respecting.
Children's Privacy
Participants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent to register. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
