Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using RaceAscend ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users — participants, race directors, and visitors.
Platform Description
RaceAscend is an online platform that enables race directors to create and manage endurance events, and participants to discover and register for those events. We provide registration processing, payment facilitation, check-in tools, results publishing, and related event management services.
For Participants
When you register for an event through RaceAscend:
- You agree to the specific event's liability waiver presented during registration
- You confirm that all information provided is accurate and complete
- You understand that RaceAscend facilitates registration but does not organize the event
- Refund and transfer policies are set by each individual race director — RaceAscend does not control these policies
- A non-refundable platform fee of $0.99 is charged per paid registration
- Payment processing fees (Stripe's standard rates) may apply and can optionally be covered by participants
For Race Directors
When you create and manage events on RaceAscend:
- You are solely responsible for the organization, safety, and execution of your event
- You agree to have proper insurance, permits, and safety measures for your event
- You are responsible for setting accurate event details, pricing, and refund policies
- RaceAscend charges $0.99 per paid registration — there are no monthly fees, setup fees, or contracts
- Stripe processes payments on your behalf — you are responsible for connecting your Stripe account
- You retain ownership of all participant data and may export it at any time
- You agree not to use the platform for fraudulent or misleading events
Fees & Payments
RaceAscend charges a flat fee of $0.99 per paid registration. This fee is non-negotiable and non-refundable. Free events incur no platform fee.
Stripe payment processing fees (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) are separate from RaceAscend's platform fee. These may be passed to participants at the race director's discretion.
Race directors receive registration revenue directly through their connected Stripe account, minus applicable fees.
Limitation of Liability
RaceAscend is a technology platform that connects race directors with participants. We are not an event organizer, and we are not responsible for the safety, quality, or execution of any event listed on our platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RaceAscend shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, data, or profit, arising from your use of the Platform.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Platform shall not exceed the total fees you paid to RaceAscend in the 12 months preceding the claim.
User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Create fraudulent events or registrations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Interfere with the Platform's infrastructure or other users' access
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute Platform content without permission
- Use another person's identity to register for events
Intellectual Property
The RaceAscend name, logo, and platform design are proprietary. Event content (names, descriptions, images) belongs to the respective race directors. Participant data belongs to participants and the race directors they register with.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create fraudulent events, or abuse the platform. You may delete your account at any time by contacting info@raceascend.com.
Modifications
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Dallas County, Texas.
